Avoid sun exposure. Please refrain from wearing makeup for 24 hours post-treatment. Your skin may feel very warm for the first 24 hours. Swelling is common and normal. Treat swelling with a cold compress or ice pack. Sleep in an elevated position for the first night to help minimize swelling. The morning after your Moxi™ treatment, swelling may be more prevalent, especially around the eyes. Swelling may persist for 2-4 days. You may take an over-the-counter oral antihistamine to help minimize swelling.

Makeup may be worn 24 hours post-treatment. Avoid sun exposure and apply a broadband protection sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher. Avoid strenuous exercise and sweating for at least 24 hours, and gently pat skin to remove sweat from treated skin. Avoid scratching and itching, as scarring and pigmentation complications can occur. For general post-treatment discomfort, you may take an over-the counter oral pain reliever, such as Extra Strength Tylenol. If an anti-viral was prescribed, continue to take it as directed.

MENDs (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris) will appear after treatment as tiny dark spots, with a bronzed appearance to the treated skin. Your skin will be very dry with a sandpaper-like texture. Skin may flake and peel as fresh, new skin is regenerated. This process can take up to 2 weeks. Keep your skin well moisturized to support the healing process. Apply moisturizer generously with clean hands over the treated area and reapply whenever your skin feels dry. Do not pick at your skin. Do not apply any other products that were not instructed by your provider, including essential oils, coconut oil, retinols, abrasive products, or any other creams or serums.

You may resume using routine skincare products, including RetinA, glycolic/salicylic and alpha-hydroxy acids.

After peeling/sloughing is complete, your skin will have a rosy glow that will gradually resolve to naturally fresh-looking skin.
