Botox & Dysport
What it does: Botox and Dysport temporarily relax the facial muscles that cause wrinkles. These injectables can treat and even prevent fine lines, wrinkles and deep facial furrows.
Who it’s for: Anyone who wants to reduce the appearance of horizontal forehead lines, crow’s feet around the eyes and frown lines between the eyebrows. This treatment is a great way to prevent lines from forming or to soften lines that already exist. Botox/Dysport treatments are truly for everyone.
What to expect: A consultation and treatment can be done the same day. Your provider will walk you through dosage and will create a customized treatment plan specific to your areas of concern.

Post-Care Instructions
Immediately After Visit
Feel free to wear makeup right away post-treatment. Please remain upright for 4 hours after a Botox or Dysport treatment (you may lie in a slightly reclined position if needed). Please avoid exercise for 4 hours following your treatment. Low-impact exercise, such as walking, is fine. If your treatment area includes the forehead or between the brows, please do not wear a headband or hat for 24 hours after treatment.
Within 1 Day
Do not massage or manipulate injection areas for at least 24 hours post-treatment.
Within 1 Week
Avoid facials, massage and waxing for 1 week following injections.
Within 1-2 Weeks
Botox will gradually take effect over 7-10 days, and you will see optimal results 2 weeks after your treatment. Dysport will gradually take effect over 2-7 days, and you will see optimal results 10 days after your treatment. We recommend treatments every 3-4 months. If this is your first treatment, please schedule a follow-up appointment 2 weeks after your injection.
FAQ for Botox/Dysport
What is the difference between Botox and Dysport?
Botox is made by Allergan, and Dysport is a product from Galderma. The two are much like Coke and Pepsi – a similar product made by two different manufacturers. Botox starts to work in 5-7 days, with full effect at 14 days. Dysport starts to work in 3-5 days, with full effect at 10 days.
How many units do I need?
Your provider will help determine how many units you need. On average, most clients use around 40-65 units total for forehead, between the brows and crow’s feet.
What if I still want movement?
Your provider can help tailor your dosage for the desired outcome. It can take a few treatments to dial in the correct dosage to achieve the result you are looking for.
Is the treatment painful?
There is very little to no pain with injections.
Will I look unnatural?

How long will it be until I see results?
This depends on the toxin used.Typically, Botox starts to work in 5-7 days, with full effect at 14 days. Dysport starts to work in 3-5 days, with full effect at 10 days. For new clients, we like to schedule a two-week follow-up to make any adjustments and ensure you are happy with your results.
How often should I get this treatment done?
We generally recommend Botox/Dysport treatment every 3-4 months. You typically don’t want to stretch treatment sessions out too much longer than this, as doing so will allow your muscles to regain their full strength.
Is this treatment safe while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Botox/Dysport injections are not safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding, as there are no studies available to determine if it is safe or not.
Is it too late to receive treatment if I already have lines and wrinkles?
It is never too late to receive treatment to help reverse the signs of aging. It is helpful to start treatments at a younger age to help prevent lines from setting in and getting deeper, thus making them more difficult to smooth as you age.
Is there a negative effect to starting and stopping treatment?
(For example, if I get Botox/Dysport then have a baby and need to take time off from treatment, is it worth it to start now?)
It is still worth it to get started on a neurotoxin. For example, if you start treatment before you are pregnant, you will have a lovely result for 3-4 months (during your pregnancy), and then once baby has safely arrived, you can resume treatment as soon as you would like. There are no negative effects to starting treatment and then waiting 9 months for your next treatment.
